HOC Rules
1. Team Composition:
• Each team consists of five players on the court at a time.
• Substitutions can be made during stoppages in play.
2. Game Duration:
• Four quarters, each 10 minutes.
• Overtime periods if the game is tied at the end of regulation. First two Goals to either team will end the game 0r 4 straight free-throws
3. Scoring:
• Points awarded for field goals (2 or 3 points) and free throws (1 point).
• A shot made from beyond the three-point arc earns 3 points.
4. Start of Play:
• The game begins with a jump ball at center court.
• Possession alternates between teams for jump balls and the start of quarters.
5. Fouls and Free Throws:
• Players accumulate 6 personal fouls (e.g., 6 fouls result in disqualification).
• 7 Team fouls lead to free throws for the opposing team in one half.
6. Timeouts:
• Each team is allowed 4 timeouts per game.
7. Backcourt Violation:
• Once a team advances the ball past the mid-court line, they cannot move it back into the backcourt.
8. Shot Clock (if applicable):
• Some leagues use a shot clock to limit the time a team has possession of the ball.
9. Dribbling:
• Players must dribble the ball while moving unless passing to a teammate.
10. Sportsmanship: Technical Fouls will be 2 points added to opposing Team; 2 Technicals in one game will earn the player one game suspension the following game.
• Emphasize fair play, respect for opponents, and adherence to the rules.
• Encourage positive behavior from players, coaches, and spectators.
Team Jerseys
All Players must have on same color jersey to play; I advise all players to bring extra jersey same color as team jersey color for the game.
MvP AWard
Team Captains & HOC Directors will Vote out of the First Team of that current season.
First & SEcond HOc Teams
Total Points (Scoring, Rebounds, Steals, Blocks, Assists) will be added up; Top 10 players with the highest total points scoring and stats will be automatically selected as First or Second Team.
*Turnovers/Technical Fouls will take points away from the individual player total points at the end of the season.
HOC Defensive Player Award
The Defensive Player will be will be selected by the votes of players and Team captain's .
*Player must play in 80% of the current season games.
